Jack Pyke Wellington Boot Care

Cleaning

Rubber is a natural material which will naturally deteriorate with time, like the Jack Pyke leather hunters boots, they need to be kept clean and require protecting with a suitable silicone based protector.

Boots should always be kept clean, wash with clean water and a light detergent if necessary after use and leave to dry in a cool, well-ventilated place (not on or under a radiator ) After the boots are thoroughly dry you should use a silicone based protector ( read manufactures instructions and test on a small area first)

When your countryman wellington boots are not in use, store them in a well ventilated area away from direct sunlight. Extreme temperatures can cause the rubber to crack, especially if not kept clean. A good quality boot bag would be ideal for storing as it will keep the Wellington boots upright and stop them from folding over.

If your wellington boots have a zip, keep the zip clean. Do not store with the zip open, silicone based protector can also be applied to the zip to help keep it free running.

When removing wellintons care should always be taken not to use force. For example, using the other boot to help removal will over time damage the boots by splitting or causing the sole to separate from the boot.
