Jack Pyke Review - Hunter Boots

Nice review of the Jack Pyke Hunters Boots - Taken from the Air Gunner magazine article, published in October 2012

Jack Pyke Review Hunters Boot

Hunters Boot Review

I purchased these boots in October 2019. It's now February 2020 and both left and right boots are letting in water. The rubber 'bumper' around the boot is splitting where the boot flexes as I go uphill. On the plus side the boot does provide good support and the soul gives plenty of grip. I would say as a 'hunter' boot they are rubbish....unless you don't require a boot to keep your feet dry
Bought some of these about 10 months ago. There was a minor issue with them which the distributor refused to discuss (I subsequently found they were going bankrupt). Contacted JP direct who, without hesitation or quibble, stepped in to sort things covering all shipping costs themselves - highly professional. They are solid boots and I would buy again. Unfortunately I think the sizing is a bit out for these boots. My size 10's in hindsight are probably closer to a 9, they are tight even with thin socks on. Original distributor had assured me they would stretch - they didn't !
Very comfortable right from the start and great soles. Had mine for 3 years and the one thing that has let the boots down is the tongue. After about 18 months the material perished and that was where they started leaking. If this was a better quality material the boots would go on and on. I would still buy another pair though as comfortable. If Jack Pyke were to make the tongues out of a better material, these boots would get 5 stars all of the time from everyone.
